  1. Beautiful, artful, funny, sad, and true. Thank you for sharing this poem.

    It seems like the declarative sentences began drifting into questions in the 1970s with “Valley girl” speak which ended every sentence with a questioning tone of voice. Instead of the authoritative “drop” in tone, a la Walter Cronkite, the voice pitched upward and left the listener hanging . . . in an space.

    There’s something beautiful about wonder, openness, and questioning. But, only when alternating with commitment, focus, and risk. Without these other qualities, wondering turns into wandering aimlessly . . . you know?
