food education

“I profoundly believe that the power of food has a primal place in our homes that binds us to the best bits of life.”

Jaime Oliver
English chef

A great 20 minutes from Jaime Oliver at TED this year (probably a good one for your kids to watch too – 12 and up).

I completely love the accent. It’s brilliant. Isn’t it?

Speaking of dining… Can I give you 3 ideas that have had a great impact in our house?

  1. I watched Jamie Oliver the other day on television (I don’t watch much television so I was not aware that this is a series). He was in Huntington, West Virginia. I almost threw up when I watched the children eating the chicken nuggets he made out of by-products. Personally I have not been to MacDonalds since I watched Supersize Me (and I refuse to take my grandchildren there). Let’s get with the program and feed ourselves and our families healthy food…And, by the way, if you have a local grocery, food co-op or farmer’s market, think about giving them your business and support your local ecenomy!
